The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

External bridge—The distance between the center of the steering axle of the towing vehicle and the center of the last axle of the trailer.

Internal bridge—The distance between the center of the second axle of the towing vehicle and the center of the last axle of the trailer.
