DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION AND NATURAL RESOURCES Lehigh River Watershed Conservation Management Plan [35 Pa.B. 742] The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation has approved the Lehigh River Watershed Conservation Management Plan (Plan) and is placing the Lehigh River, the watershed and all tributaries covered in the Plan in Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Northampton, Schuylkill and Wayne Counties on the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry (Registry).
The Wildlands Conservancy (Conservancy) submitted the Plan and other required information to gain Registry status.
After review of the Plan and other information, the Department has determined that the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Program (Program) requirements have been satisfied and places the following on the Registry:
* The watershed area of the Lehigh River Watershed from the headwaters to its confluence with the Delaware River--1,345 square miles.
* All tributary streams within the Lehigh River Watershed.
This action takes effective February 5, 2005. Projects identified in the Plan become eligible for implementation, development or acquisition grant funding through the Program.
