Section 4310.11. Capital assets

For the purpose of obtaining Medical Assistance eligibility, charges shall be made against assets of the client following 6 months of continuous inpatient hospitalization at the State facility and physicians certification of continued need of care for an additional one year. These resources, exclusive of the real estate which constitutes the home residence of the client, shall be considered a resource for the client to meet the cost of service at the State facility. Charges against capital assets are billed at the full per diem rate until only $1,500 in combined funds remains. When the allowable conserved fund amount is reached, the clients liability is reassessed based on his income.
