Section 47.32. Requirement for biennial renewal

(a) The Board requires, as a condition of biennial renewal of a social workers license, the completion during the preceding biennium of 30 clock hours of continuing education in acceptable courses and programs in social work offered by approved providers. Excess clock hours may not be carried over to the next biennium. Effective with the 2009 renewals and thereafter, at least 3 of the required 30 clock hours must be related to ethical issues.
(b) The Board requires, as a condition of biennial renewal of a clinical social workers license, the completion during the preceding biennium of 30 clock hours of continuing education in acceptable courses and programs in social work offered by approved providers. Effective with the 2009 renewals and thereafter, at least 3 of the required 30 clock hours must be in ethical issues. Excess clock hours may not be carried over to the next biennium.
