Section 421.1. Definitions

The following words and terms, when used in this chapter, have the following meanings, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:
ActThe Deputy Sheriffs Education and Training Act (71 P. S. § § 21012109).
Basic trainingA course of training administered by the Deputy Sheriffs Education and Training Board under section 5 of the act (71 P. S. § 2105).
BoardThe Deputy Sheriffs Education and Training Board.
Continuing educationA course of training administered by the Board under section 6 of the act (71 P. S. § 2106).
Deputy sheriffA person, whether full-time or part-time, who is titled, sworn-in or authorized to act as a deputy sheriff or who performs the duties of a deputy sheriff.
