Section 643. View by Jury

(A) The trial judge may in the judges discretion order a view by the jury.
(B) The trial judge, the attorney for the Commonwealth, the defendant and defendants attorney shall be present at the view, except as provided in Rule 602.
Comment This rule changes the present law in Pennsylvania requiring the presence of the defendant at a view by the jury. See Commonwealth v. Darcy, 66 A.2d 663 (Pa. 1949), Commonwealth v. Sallade, 97 A.2d 528 (Pa. 1953).
