Consent is implied in law for emergencies and there is no need to seek a surrogate health care decision maker before providing emergency medical treatment. See the Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error (MCARE) Act (40 P. S. § § 1303.1011303.1115); In re Dorone, 534 A.2d 452 (Pa. 1987).
