Highmark, Inc.; Rate Increase Filing for Medicare Supplement Form [40 Pa.B. 5112]
[Saturday, September 4, 2010]By filing No. 1-DPMG(MIDA)-IBC-A-10-HBS-1990, Highmark, Inc., d/b/a Highmark Blue Shield, requests approval to increase its premium rates for its Issue Age Security 65 Plan (NAIC's 1990 standardized Medigap Plan A) in the Independence Blue Cross service area. The filing requests an overall increase of about 11.0% or $14.55 PMPM. This will affect about 598 members and produce additional premium income of about $8,701 per month. The requested effective date of these changes is January 1, 2011.
Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to November 18, 2010, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.
