Bankers Life and Casualty Company Rate Increase Filing for Several Long-Term Care Policy Forms; Rate Filing

   Bankers Life and Casualty is requesting approval to increase the premium 35% for the following Long-Term Care Forms: GR-7A1, GR-N050, GR-N055, GR-N100, GR-N105, GR-N115, GR-N160, GR-N165, GR-N240, GR-N270, GR-N250 and GR-N280. The premium increase will affect 7,453 Pennsylvania policyholders.

   Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to November 26, 2008, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.

   A copy of the filing is available on the Insurance Department's (Department) web site at www.ins.state.pa.us. Under the Quick Links section, click on the link ''Rate Filings Published in the PA Bulletin.''

   Copies of the filing are also available for public inspection, by appointment, during normal working hours at the Department's Harrisburg office.
