HealthGuard; Premium Rate Increase; Group Business; Rate Filing [33 Pa.B. 4644] On August 28, 2003, HealthGuard submitted a base rate filing for the medical and pharmacy plans requesting a rate increase of 26.4% for Base HMO, 25% for POS and 12%--13% for prescription drug products. This filing will affect 63,600 members in the medical plans and 48,400 in the prescription drug plans. The annualized additional revenue from the proposed rate increase is approximately $38.5 million. The proposed effective date of this increase is October 1, 2003.
Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Insurance Department's regional office in Harrisburg.
Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Cherri Sanders-Jones, Actuary, Bureau of Accident and Health Insurance, Insurance Department, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120 within 30 days after publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
