The Medical Protective Company Rate and Rule Filing [41 Pa.B. 4926]
[Saturday, September 10, 2011]On August 19, 2011, the Insurance Department (Department) received from The Medical Protective Company a filing for rate level changes for the Physicians and Surgeons, Dentists, Allied Healthcare Providers and Comprehensive Liability Package programs. The company requests an overall rate level decrease of 3.5% to be effective January 1, 2012. The filing includes the following revisions: changes to territorial relativities; introduction of three new specialties in the Physicians and Surgeons program; movement of one Physicians and Surgeons specialty from one class to another; and various rule revisions.
Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to October 18, 2011, the rates within the subject filing may be deemed into use upon the effective date, January 1, 2012, by operation of law.
