DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION Finding Berks County [27 Pa.B. 4046] Pursuant to the provisions of 71 P. S. Section 2002(b), the Secretary of Transportation makes the following written finding:
The Department of Transportation plans to construct State Route 0222, in Brecknock, Cumru, Spring, and Wyoming Townships, Berks County.
The project consists of widening 7.1 kilometers (4.4 miles) of U.S. 222 from a two-lane free access roadway to a four-lane limited access roadway from south of the Berks-Lancaster County line north of Hain Road and the Warren Street Extension portion, which is a 4.2-kilometer (2.6 mile), four-lane, limited access facility on new alignment, north of Hain Road to the existing Warren Street Bypass/Penn Avenue interchange. A continuous median barrier will be constructed for the entire length of the project. Limited access, grade-separated interchanges will be constructed at Route 568/Route 272, Mohns Hill Road, Grings Hill Road, and Route 724. Blimline Hill Road will be realigned.
The Department of Transportation has recieved environmental clearance in the form of a Record of Decision from the Regional Planning and Program Development Director of the Federal Highway Administration.
No adverse environmental effect is likely to result from the construction of these sections of highway.
