DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION Index Calculation Required by Act 72 of 2004 [35 Pa.B. 4833] Under section 333(l) of the Homeowner Tax Relief Act (Act 72 of 2004), the Department of Education (Department) has calculated the index for the 2006-2007 fiscal year.
The index is the average of the percentage increase in the Statewide average weekly wage and the Employment Cost Index. For the 2006-2007 fiscal year, the base index is 3.9%.
For school districts with a market value/income aid ratio greater than .4000, an individualized index will be posted on the Department's website at www.pde.state.pa.us/proptax by September 30, 2005.
