Independence Blue Cross and Pennsylvania Blue Shield; Filing No. 11-P-98; Non-Group Major Medical Rate Increase

   Independence Blue Cross and Pennsylvania Blue Shield submitted a proposal to increase the premium rates for their Non-group Major Medical Programs. The proposed rate increase would affect approximately 7,000 contracts and would produce estimated additional annual premium income of $1.75 million. An effective date of January 1, 1999 is requested.

   Copies of the filing are available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Insurance Department's Harrisburg and Philadelphia Regional Offices.

   Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Bharat Patel, Actuary, Bureau of Accident and Health Insurance, Insurance Department, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, within 30 days after publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
