[Saturday, August 18, 2007]On August 2, 2007, the Insurance Department (Department) received from Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania a filing for a rate increase for its Nongroup Student Plan.
The company requests a 15% increase or $5.76 per member per month. This will affect about 610 contractholders and will produce additional income of about $42,220 annually. The requested effective date of the change is January 1, 2008.
Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to November 1, 2007, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.

Copies of the filing are also available for public inspection, by appointment, during normal working hours at the Department's Harrisburg office in Harrisburg.
