Application for Merger of Continental Life Insurance Company with and into Conseco Senior Health Insurance Company

   An application has been received requesting approval of the merger of Continental Life Insurance Company, a nonadmitted insurer organized under the laws of the State of Texas, with and into Conseco Senior Health Insurance Company, a stock life insurance company organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The initial filing was received on June 30, 2000, and was made with requirements set forth under the Insurance Holding Companies Act (40 P. S. § 991.1401 et seq.), the Business Corporation Law of 1988, 15 Pa.C.S. §§ 1921--1932 and 15 P. S. §§ 21205--21207. Persons wishing to comment on the grounds of public or private interest in this merger are invited to submit a written statement to the Insurance Department (Department) within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. Each written statement must include the name, address and telephone number of the interested party, identification of the application to which the statement is addressed, and a concise statement with sufficient detail and relevant facts to inform the Department of the exact basis of the statement.
