INSURANCE DEPARTMENT Education and Training for Applicants and Insurance Producers [38 Pa.B. 3359]
[Saturday, June 21, 2008]The Insurance Department (Department) is soliciting comments on a proposed regulation concerning the education and training of applicants and insurance producers. The proposed regulation should be of interest to all insurance producers and applicants to obtain an insurance license. The proposed rulemaking also contains new provisions for the sale of Long-Term Care Insurance and Flood Insurance. For these reasons the Department wishes to obtain comments from interested parties before proceeding with a formal rulemaking proposal.
A copy of the draft proposed regulations is available from the Bureau of Administration at 1326 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120. Requests for the draft must be received by July 11, 2008. Written comments on the draft proposed regulations must be received by July 25, 2008. Comments or requests for copies should be addressed or delivered to Peter J. Salvatore, Regulatory Coordinator, Bureau of Administration, Harrisburg, PA 17120. The draft proposed regulations are also available electronically through the Department's web site www.ins.state.pa.us/ins/cwp/view.asp?a=1282&q=525010. Comments may be transmitted electronically to psalvatore@state.pa.us, and must also be received by July 25, 2008. A subject heading of the proposal and a return name and address must be included in each transmission. If an acknowledgement of electronic comments is not received by the sender within 2 working days, the comments should be retransmitted to ensure receipt.
