FISH AND BOAT COMMISSION Additions to List of Class A Wild Trout Waters
[43 Pa.B. 2529]
[Saturday, May 4, 2013]The Fish and Boat Commission (Commission) has approved the addition of five stream sections to its list of Class A Wild Trout Streams as set forth at 43 Pa.B. 1059 (February 16, 2013). These streams are Beaver Run, Section 01, Carbon County, from the headwaters downstream to remnant dam located 0.22 km downstream from the SR 3006 (Packerton Drive) Bridge; Beaver Run, Section 02, Carbon County, from the remnant dam located 0.22 km downstream from the SR 3006 (Packerton Drive) Bridge to mouth; Fireline Creek, Section 01, Carbon County, from the headwaters to the mouth; Sawmill Run, Section 01, Carbon County, from the headwaters to the mouth; and Slab Cabin Run, Section 01, Centre County, from the headwaters to the mouth. The Commission did not act on the designation of Logan Branch, Section 01, Centre County.
Under 58 Pa. Code § 57.8a (relating to Class A wild trout streams), it is the Commission's policy to manage self-sustaining Class A wild trout populations as a renewable natural resource and to conserve that resource and the angling that it provides. Class A wild trout populations represent the best of this Commonwealth's naturally reproducing trout fisheries. The Commission manages these stream sections for wild trout with no stocking.
