DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION
AND NATURAL RESOURCESUpper Chartiers Creek Watershed Conservation Plan [33 Pa.B. 2592] The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation has approved a Rivers Conservation Plan for the Upper Chartiers Watershed (Plan) and is placing a portion of the Upper Chartiers Creek Watershed in Washington County on the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry (Registry).
The Washington County Watershed Alliance has submitted the Plan and other required information to gain Registry status.
After review of the Plan and other information, the Department has determined that the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Program (Program) requirements have been satisfied and places the following on the Registry:
1. A portion of the Upper Chartiers Creek Watershed from the headwaters of the Chartiers Creek Watershed to the confluence of the Chartiers Creek with the Little Chartiers Creek in Washington County--138 square miles.
2. All tributary streams within the Upper Chartiers Watershed.
This action becomes effective May 31, 2003. Projects identified in the Plan become eligible for implementation, development or acquisition grant funding through the Program.
