State Board for Certification of Sewage Enforcement Officers; 2012 Examination Announcement [42 Pa.B. 3027]
[Saturday, May 26, 2012]The State Board for Certification of Sewage Enforcement Officers (Board) and the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) have scheduled four certification examinations for 2012. To qualify to sit for the certification examination, all sewage enforcement officer (SEO) candidates must complete the Precertification Academy. Examination applications must be received (not postmarked) by the Board complete and correct by close of business on the deadlines indicated. Applications received after these dates will not be considered for examination. Applications that do not contain all the necessary required information will be returned and will not be considered eligible for the examination. The examination schedule and application deadlines for 2012 are as follows:

The SEO written examination contains 100 multiple choice questions covering planning requirements, administration and enforcement of the permit program and technical criteria for soils and disposal systems with a 3.5-hour time limit. The passing grade is 50% correct responses in each subject area and an overall minimum of 70 correct answers on the entire examination. This is an open book examination. Individuals are not permitted to bring their own materials. Necessary reference materials will be provided at the test site.

Applicants will receive an admittance letter from the Board prior to the date of the examination.
