       The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), acting through the Bureau of Forestry (Bureau) and George Jenkins are proposing to negotiate an exchange of lands in Forks and Shrewsbury Townships, Sullivan County, PA.

       The Bureau is proposing to acquire from George Jenkins a 61.72 acre parcel of land on the Little Loyalsock Creek in Forks Township. In return, the Bureau proposes to convey to George Jenkins a 26.99 acre parcel northwest of PA SR 42 in Laporte Township.

       As is the policy of the Department, the public is notified of this exchange. A 30-day period for public inquiry and/or comment will be in effect commencing May 29, 2007, and ending June 28, 2007. Oral or written comments or questions concerning this proposed exchange may be addressed to Daniel A. Devlin, Acting State Forester, Bureau of Forestry, P. O. Box 8552, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8552, (717) 787-2105. These oral and/or written comments will become part of the official document used in the final decision process.

       If, in the duration of the 30-day comment period, a significant amount of public concern develops, the Secretary of the Department may schedule a public informational meeting.
