[Saturday, April 4, 2015]An application has been received requesting approval of the merger of HealthAmerica Pennsylvania, Inc. (HAPA), a corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth, with and into Aetna Health, Inc. (AHI-PA), a corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth. AHI-PA is licensed in this Commonwealth to operate a health maintenance organization. HAPA is licensed in this Commonwealth to operate a health maintenance organization. The initial filing was received on March 12, 2015, and was made under Article XIV of the Insurance Company Law of 1921 (40 P. S. §§ 991.1401—991.1413).
Persons wishing to comment on the grounds of public or private interest in this merger are invited to submit a written statement to the Insurance Department (Department) within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin. Each written statement must include the name, address and telephone number of the interested party; identification of the application to which the statement is addressed; and a concise statement with sufficient detail and relevant facts to inform the Department of the exact basis of the statement.
