Application for Acquisition of a Controlling Interest [33 Pa.B. 1551] Appaloosa Partners Inc., a Delaware corporation engaged in the business of investment management, has filed an application to acquire a controlling interest of Colonial Penn Life Insurance Company and Conseco Senior Health Insurance Company. The initial filing was received on March 5, 2003, and was made under the requirements set forth under the Insurance Holding Companies Act (40 P. S. §§ 991.1401--991.1516). Persons wishing to comment on the grounds of public or private interest in this acquisition of control are invited to submit a written statement to the Insurance Department (Department) within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
