  • Insurance Placement Facilities of Delaware and Pennsylvania (The Pennsylvania FAIR Plan); Dwelling Property Form Filing

    [41 Pa.B. 1080]
    [Saturday, February 26, 2011]

On February 8, 2011, the Insurance Department (Department) received from the FAIR Plan a filing to introduce a Dwelling Property 2—Broad Form.

As stated in the filing, during the winter of 2009-2010, the FAIR Plan denied a number of weather related losses (such as weight of ice and snow or freezing pipes) which are not insured under the FAIR Plan's current basic property form. The inability of the residual market consumer to secure coverage for winter weather exposure in this Commonwealth through the FAIR Plan has prompted this filing to introduce Dwelling Property 2—Broad Form DP 00 02 FPPA 07 11. The proposed new coverage is optional and must meet eligibility requirements. An effective date of July 1, 2011, is requested.

Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to April 9, 2011, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.

A copy of the filing is available on the Department's web site at www.insurance.pa.gov. To access the filing, under ''How to Find . . .'' click on ''View Current Rate Filings.''

Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Debra Breach, Insurance Department, Office of Insurance Product Regulation, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, dbreach@state.pa.us within 15 days after publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
