   On February 5, 2001, the Insurance Department (Department) received from The Medical Protective Company a filing for a rate level change for physicians and surgeons professional liability insurance.

   The Medical Protective Company requests an overall 15.0% increase to be effective July 1, 2001.

   Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to March 22, 2001, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.

   Copies of the filing will be available for public inspection during normal working hours, by appointment, at the Department's offices in Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Erie.

   Interested parties are invited to submit written comments, suggestions or objections to Ken Creighton, ACAS, Insurance Department, Bureau of Regulation of Rates and Policies, 1311 Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120, or e-mail at [e-mail] within 30 days after publication of this notice in the Pennsylvania Bulletin.
