    Application and Request for a Certificate of Authority

       UPMC Health Benefits, Incorporated has applied for a Certificate of Authority to operate as a stock casualty insurance company in this Commonwealth. The initial filing was received on January 14, 1999, and was made under the requirements set forth under the Business Corporation Law of 1988 (15 Pa.C.S. § 1 et seq.). Persons wishing to comment on the grounds of public or private interest to the issuance of the Department's order approving this Certificate of Authority are invited to submit a written statement to the Insurance Department within 30 days from the date of this issue of the Pennsylvania Bulletin. Each written statement must include the name, address and telephone number of the interested party, identification of the application to which the statement is addressed, and a concise statement with sufficient detail to inform the Insurance Department of the exact basis of the statement.
