DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH Health Maintenance Organization Certificate of Authority [27 Pa.B. 620] On January 3, 1997, Health Plans of Pennsylvania, Inc. filed with the Departments of Health and Insurance, an application for a Certificate of Authority to establish, operate and maintain a health maintenance organization in accordance with the provisions of the Health Maintenance Organization Act (40 P. S. §§ 1551--1567), Department of Health Regulations, 28 Pa. Code Chapter 9 and the Department of Insurance HMO Regulations, 31 Pa. Code Chapter 301.
The proposed service area of the applicant is Delaware, Philadelphia, Montgomery, Chester and Bucks Counties.
