     On November 16, 2012, the Insurance Department (Department) received from GEICO General Insurance Company, GEICO Indemnity Insurance Company and Government Employees Insurance Company a filing for rate level changes for Private Passenger Automobile insurance.

     GEICO General Insurance Company requests an overall 2.5% increase, amounting to $5,443,000, to be effective January 17, 2013, for new business and March 4, 2013, for renewal business. This overall figure represents an average, the effect of this filing on the rates for individual consumers may vary.

     GEICO Indemnity Insurance Company requests an overall 0.4% increase, amounting to $346,000, to be effective January 17, 2013, for new business and March 4, 2013, for renewal business. This overall figure represents an average, the effect of this filing on the rates for individual consumers may vary.

     Government Employees Insurance Company requests an overall 2.5% increase, amounting to $1,597,000, to be effective January 17, 2013, for new business and March 4, 2013, for renewal business. This overall figure represents an average, the effect of this filing on the rates for individual consumers may vary.

     Unless formal administrative action is taken prior to January 15, 2013, the subject filing may be deemed approved by operation of law.
