Coal Mining Reclamation Fee Amount for 2015

[Saturday, December 6, 2014]The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) announces the amount of the Reclamation Fee for 2015. This notice is required by 25 Pa. Code § 86.17 (relating to permit and reclamation fees). Effective January 1, 2015, the Reclamation Fee for calendar year 2015 will be $0. While the fee will not be assessed in 2015, the regulations require annual adjustments. The fee amount for subsequent years will be calculated in accordance with 25 Pa. Code § 86.17. Refer to this section of the regulations for further information about the process.
This is the result of calculations presented in a report that contains a financial analysis of the revenue and expenditures from the account for Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-2014 and provides projections for FY 2014-2015. The report was reviewed with the Mining and Reclamation Advisory Board on October 23, 2014.
