  • Availability of Universal Waste Petitions for Public Comment

       The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is providing notice of its receipt of two petitions requesting regulatory amendments under 25 Pa. Code Chapter 266, Subchapters J-O (relating to universal waste). One petition requests inclusion of fluorescent and mercury lamps as universal wastes; the other petition requests inclusion of mercury devices. The petitions were submitted by Advanced Environmental Recycling Corporation.

       DEP has determined that the petitions are complete and is soliciting public comments on whether to include the petitioned items as univeral wastes. Copies of the petitions may be obtained from Richard Shipman, Chief, Division of Hazardous Waste, Bureau of Land Recycling and Waste Management, P. O. Box 8471, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8471, or by calling (717) 787-6239. Interested persons may submit comments on the petitions until December 10, 1997. Comments should be directed to Richard Shipman at the above address or electronically to Shipman.Rick@a1.dep.state.pa.us.
