Code, Chapter 23 (relating to Environmental Quality Board policy for processing petitions--statement of policy).
The petition requests a change to the designated use of a three-mile segment of Big Brook in Lebanon Township, Wayne County, from High Quality-Cold Water Fishes (HQ-CWF) to Exceptional Value Waters (EV). The petition was submitted by the Lebanon Township Board of Supervisors.
The Department of Environmental Protection (Department) is evaluating all available data to determine the scope of its stream assessment for Big Brook. Public notice will be given before the Department conducts the stream assessment. The public notice will provide an opportunity for persons to make technical data concerning the streams available to the Department. Any changes that are recommended to the existing designation of this water body following the evaluation will be proposed for rulemaking with an opportunity for additional public comment.
Copies of the petition are available from the Environmental Quality Board, P. O. Box 8477, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8477, (717) 787-4526, E-mail RegComments@dep. state.pa.us.
