Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry [30 Pa.B. 404] The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (Department), Bureau of Recreation and Conservation has approved the Kiski-Conemaugh River Conservation Plan and is placing Kiskiminetas and Conemaugh Rivers along with all tributary rivers and streams on the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Registry (Registry).
On September 27, 1999, the Conemaugh Valley Conservancy submitted the Kiski-Conemaugh River Conservation Plan and other required information to gain Registry status.
After review of the Plan and the other information, the Department has determined that Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Program requirements have been satisfied and places the following on the Registry:
1. The Kiski-Conemaugh River Basin from the confluence with the Allegheny River (Freeport, PA) to its headwaters (1887 square miles).
2. All tributary rivers and streams within the river basin.
This action becomes effective January 22, 2000. Projects identified in the Kiski-Conemaugh River Conservation Plan become eligible for implementation, development or acquisition grant funding through the Pennsylvania Rivers Conservation Program.
