Emergency Shelter Grant Program; Applications for Funding

   The Department of Community Affairs has been invited to apply for funding through the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

   The Emergency Shelter Grant Program is established within the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act. The grant will provide for the repair and operations of shelters which provide assistance to homeless families and individuals.

   Applications may be submitted to the Department by local governments on behalf of homeless service providers through February 16, 1996. Application forms and instructions may be obtained by contacting the Department's regional offices. Persons with a disability who wish to submit an application in accordance with the provisions stated herein and who require assistance with that application and persons who require copies of this notice in an alternate format (large type, braille, and the like) should contact David Chittister, Room 507 Forum Building, Harrisburg, PA 17120, telephone [phone] to discuss how the Department may best accommodate their needs.
